NCC Increases National Staff In Wake of Deal With Cablevision.

After sealing a deal to sell national advertising on local cable throughout the New York market, National Cable Communications is bulking up its ad staff.

Tom Olson, CEO of NCC, said the rep firm will double the size of its new account development squad to 15 or 16 people by the end of this month. He likened the new business team to "missionaries" who spread the gospel of spot cable to agency planning groups and advertisers.

NCC, which represents systems with 66 million homes, has added about 77 people this year, increasing its total employment to more than 500 people.

Still in the mix are 21 staffers from Cablevision …
